Audrey Maier, a freshman majoring in Korean and International Relations, won the Korean Culture Award at the 2022 Online Korean Poetry Recitation Contest hosted by the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (KCCLA) and the King Sejong Institute Center to commemorate the 576th Anniversary of Korean Alphabet Hangul Day (October 9, 2022). She recited the poem Back to Heaven written by Sangbyeong Cheon (천상병의 귀천).

Audrey started learning Korean after growing up in Dallas with many Korean friends. She became familiar with the culture through her Korean friends and was inspired to learn the language through these experiences. She enjoys K Beauty, Korean food, and Korean ballad music the most. In the future, she would like to share Korean culture with other people through ambassadorship.

Congratulations, Audrey!
